With a career spanning over 25 years in the ICT industry across Australia and North America, Mike boasts an impressive background. Mike previously held the position of CEO and Chairman for Fujitsu’s Oceania region, which he assumed in April 2011 after transitioning from his role in Fujitsu’s North America operations. As one of Fujitsu’s Global Corporate Officers, Mike reported directly to the Global President. He was pivotal in steering the company’s enterprise-level business strategy and expanding Fujitsu’s presence as a Tier 1 Technology Services Integrator. Under his leadership, the region employed over 5,000 staff and achieved revenues exceeding $1.3 billion.

 

Before joining Fujitsu, he spent nine years in senior executive positions at Telstra, including serving as the Managing Director of Business Sales and overseeing a $6.5 billion portfolio. He later held the position of Chief Executive Officer at KAZ Group. Preceding his tenure at Telstra, he served as the Managing Director of EMC, Australia/New Zealand, and NCR Australia.

 

Before EMC, Mike spent two years at Teradata Corp in North America and Australia. Mike was deeply involved in complex Big Data/Analytics projects with notable S&P 500 companies.

 

Mike’s educational qualifications encompass a Bachelor of Education from Victoria University, a Master of Strategic Marketing from Charles Sturt University, and certifications in Conducting Business Negotiations, Company Mergers and Acquisitions from Harvard University. Additionally, he holds a qualification in Sustaining High Performance from Babson College in Boston, USA. Presently, Mike is pursuing a Master’s in Cybersecurity at UNSW.

 

Beyond his professional achievements, Mike excels as a public speaker, actively engaging audiences at events across Australia, the USA, Canada, the UK, Germany, New Zealand, Singapore, Hong Kong, China, and South Korea. He also holds an Australian Government NV2 security clearance.

 

Mike fervently advocates for workplace diversity and has contributed as a Male Champions of Change STEM group board member. Throughout his career, he has held positions on various boards, including KAZ, AAS, NCR, and numerous boards within Telstra, including joint venture boards. He has also served as a former board member of AIIA, Stellar Call Centre, and Telstra Clear NZ.

 

Outside of his professional pursuits, Mike finds enjoyment in cycling, AFL football, music, and spending quality time with his wife Annie, their two children, and extended family.

 

Since departing from Fujitsu, Mike has immersed himself in advising emerging and established Australian corporates in the fields of Automation, AI, and Cybersecurity. His extensive experience and multifaceted capabilities in strategy, competitive positioning, and growth contribute significantly to these companies.
